Welcome
Welcome to the Belgian Rhodesian Ridgeback Club homepage. We are
dedicated to this outstanding family dog and therefore the purpose of our
site is to:
- Provide news on RR happenings in Belgium
- Encourage responsible RR ownership and quality breeding
- Offer education about the Rhodesian Ridgeback breed
Our History
Belgian Rhodesian Ridgeback owners interested in the breed organized
their first general meeting in 1992. The Belgian Rhodesian Ridgeback Club (BRRC)
was subsequently formed and officially recognized by St. Hubertus (Belgian
Kennel Club) in 1994. Today, the club has around 150 members and an estimated
population of 300 to 400 Rhodesian Ridgebacks.
The aim of the club is to
promote and improve the Rhodesian Ridgeback breed
in Belgium. Frequently organised events include walking days and an annual
international Rhodesian Ridgeback Club Day. The club has its own bulletin,
published quarterly, filled with details of upcoming events, information about
the club and with articles of interest about the breed. The club is open to
all who are interested in the Rhodesian Ridgeback breed including current Ridgeback
owners, as well as, the prospective owners.
