Out of many characteristics that you may be looking for in your new puppy (type, colour, male or female, etc.), the temperament of your puppy will have the most effect on your family's every day life.

Choose carefully!

When looking for a dog you should visit as many kennels and see as many pups as possible. Don’t go to see the pups directly. A sweet cuddly little pup may impair your other wise good judgment. You should instead be looking at the adult dogs - the pup will not stay a pup and what you see in the adults is what the pups are likely to turn out like. The adult dogs should appear happy, healthy and clean. Any dog showing signs of aggression for no reason (and visiting the pups is not a good reason) is not going to make a good companion. A fearful (shy) dog could become a potential a fear baiter. A dog with proper, stable temperament should be approachable without showing fear or aggression.

Please visit the mother (at least) of your puppy before and after the puppies are born and ask the breeder for contact details of other people to whom she/he have previously sold puppies to. Ask and get a contact number for the father of the pups. Don’t get put off by many questions the breeder may ask you and ask as many questions as you need yourself. It is in the good breeders best interest to make a perfect match between you and your puppy and as a result ensure a good, permanent home for their pups.

IMPORTANT!
DO NOT BUY A PUPPY FROM A BREEDER WHO DOESN'T PROVIDE YOU WITH
OFFICIAL THE COPY OF HIP DYSPLASIA (HD) CERTIFICATE FROM BOTH, MOTHER AND FATHER. THE CERTIFICATES SHOULD SHOW EITHER 'A' OR 'B' RESULT. All combinations of 'A' + 'A', 'B' + 'A' are good but avoid 'B' + 'B'. If in doubt, please send us an email, we will be happy to help!

Save yourself a LOT of money and A LOT of heartache and ASK for HD certificate.
